Description

Fast Bloom is your must-have blooming gel for salon-speed nail art. Designed by Kirsty Meakin for nail techs who want big impact without extra steps, Fast Bloom lets any gel colour spread and bloom into intricate designs the moment it touches the nail — no advanced technique required. Use it alongside your favourite Kirsty Meakin gel colours to create flower nail art, marble nails, tortoiseshell, aura, and snake skin effects with zero stress and maximum creativity.

How to Use Fast Bloom

  1. Prep and apply your Kirsty Meakin base coat as normal, then cure under your LED lamp for 30 seconds.
  2. Apply your chosen gel colour and cure.
  3. Apply a thin layer of Fast Bloom over the cured colour — don’t cure yet.
  4. While the blooming gel is still wet, drop your next gel colour on top using a dotting tool or fine nail art brush. Watch it bloom and spread across the nail.
  5. For a more intense blooming effect, add a second coat of colour and let it bloom again before curing.
  6. Once you’re happy with the design, cure for 30 seconds and seal with your Kirsty Meakin top coat.

Designs You Can Create

Fast Bloom is built for speed without sacrificing detail — perfect for salons that need unique designs on a full column of clients. Popular looks include:

  • Watercolour florals and flower nail art
  • Marble and marble effect designs
  • Tortoiseshell and snake skin prints
  • Aura and soft-blend gradients

Perfect For

Nail techs and salons who want to add intricate, unique designs to their menu without slowing down the chair — and hobbyists who want the same effortless formula at home. Pair with acrylic powder or a builder gel base for added texture, or keep it simple over gel colour alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Blooming Gel do?

Blooming gel is a clear, thin-consistency gel that makes any gel colour dropped on top of it spread and diffuse across the nail. Applied uncured over your base colour, it creates soft-edged, watercolour-style effects like marble, florals and tortoiseshell — all without needing advanced freehand painting skills.

What is the difference between Blooming Gel and regular gel?

Regular gel polish is opaque and stays where you paint it. Blooming gel is thinner and translucent, and — crucially — is applied uncured, so any colour placed on top of it spreads naturally instead of holding a sharp line. That’s what creates the soft, blended “bloom” effect regular gel can’t replicate.

Is Blooming Gel just top coat?

No. Top coat is cured and designed to seal and protect your finished design with a hard, glossy layer. Blooming gel is applied uncured and left wet on purpose — that’s what lets colour spread and bloom. You still need a separate top coat afterwards to seal and protect the finished nail.

Can I use any gel polish with blooming gel?

Most gel colours will bloom, but results vary by pigment and consistency — highly pigmented, thinner gels tend to spread more dramatically, while thick or heavily-loaded colours bloom less. We’d always recommend testing with your usual KM gel colours first so you know exactly how each shade behaves before working on a client.

Why won’t my blooming gel work?

Usually it’s one of three things: the layer is too thick (thin coats bloom better), it’s picked up stray light and started curing before you added colour, or the colour gel itself is too thick to spread. Work quickly, keep coats thin, and cure only once your design is complete.
